Actually, there was nothing really wrong with the dining room - except for a 15 month old who believes that everything looks much better on the floor... And he still believes that! We just dont spend as much time in the store anymore so that things can stay where they belong!
Designers are still welcome to make comments and adjustments -- it's always a work in progress! (Says the uncreative store owner...)

I really think that a table would look great and be very useful in the middle of your store. Perhaps you have an oversized table somewhere in the house, for example blocking the entry between the kitchen and the dining room. This large surface would be nice for laying out samples and for customer's kids to play under, especially if it had a REAL long table cloth on it. Put choice toys under the table, and a bowl of cheerios to snack on. Good luck with your new space!
